It took the past 24 hours with just a few hours of sleep in between, but our move from SMF to vBulletin is now complete! I’ll be tweaking the forum until it’s just right, so if you try to use it and it disappears or gives you error messages, please be patient. In case you run across any bugs, glitches, or things you know aren’t right, there’s a thread in the main forum to report them. Access the new improved forum here. The URL is still the same, so no need to bookmark it again.
And if you were already a member of the forum and have made a post within the past year, your account SHOULD still be there. Just reset your password by using the “lost password” link when trying to log in, and you’ll get an email explaining how to do that. If you haven’t posted over the past 365 days, your account may have been pruned and you’ll have to re-register. Oh yeah, and for those wondering, all the old posts from SMF are on the forum.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be sorting through years worth of pictures and adding new locations to the site, so stay tuned for new stuff!
Helllloooooo, is anybody out there? Yes, we’re still here. Got some new stuff for you, which will be added to the site shortly, but for right now, a new forum is being installed. If you’re currently a member and have been trying to access the forum only to find that it isn’t there or it’s giving you an error message, please be patient. I’m in the process of converting the old forum to vBulletin, since we started off with vBulletin and never had the spam problems we have now. So, if the forum isn’t working for you tonight, check back tomorrow and hopefully it should be there, but bigger and better.
I’ve also streamlined the site a little bit, if you haven’t noticed. There are less menu options at the top of the main page, but “Cemeteries” and “Oddities” can now be found under “Extras”. Less clutter that way.
Oh, and I’ve been working on integrating parts of this site with Facebook, so now you can “Like” posts and pages on The Unquiet Tomb and they’ll show up on your Facebook profile. Go ahead, “Like” this post. 
That’s right, folks. I’ve got four new locations for you that I think you’ll like. First on the list, I added the Cathedral Of the Plastic Christ, which is a beautiful old church that was used as a shooting location for a well-known film back in the 1990’s. Also added, the Greenwood AKA Knights Of Pythias Cemetery. This mostly abandoned cemetery was by far one of the creepiest we’ve ever been to, so be sure to check that one out. I also added the Newark Street Jail and the legendary Jake Brown Road Abandoned Development, both of which I’m sure you’re quite familiar with.
As I’m sure I’ve mentioned, I’ve got about three to four years worth of content to add to this site, so I’ll be adding it gradually. I’ve even got some photos from when the site first began that I never had the chance to add, so maybe I’ll get around to adding some of those eventually as well. Some of the places are long gone, so it should be interesting!
There are some interesting discussions and chats happening on the new forum, so be sure to register for an account. It’s the only way to become a member of The Unquiet Tomb. Also, we’re still looking for abandoned and “weird” locations, as well as ghost stories to add to the site, so email me!
Well hello there. Welcome to the brand new Unquiet Tomb site! You may notice that’s not quite done yet , as I have all of the old content to re-add, as well as some brand spankin’ new content to edit and add for now. I couldn’t wait any longer to launch the new site, so I figured there’s no harm in letting you look around while I add the rest of the old content. Many locations and features aren’t quite in place yet and some links may even be broken, so please be patient with me, okay? I’ll be adding all of the content from the old site first, and then I’ll slowly be adding new locations, stories, and pictures. As I said, it’s a lot of work.
You may also notice that our “Oddities” section seems to be lacking, and that may because I lost a lot of it in our multiple moves over the years. I may be mistaken, but I really thought we had more locations. Don’t worry, though–we’ll be going out and finding more to add. And hey, maybe you can even help us with that. If you know of any strange, unusual, or just plain bizarre points of interest, email us with the information and you might even see it featured on the site eventually!
There is also a brand new forum to go with the site, so go ahead and join. If you recall, we had one at xero-entry.com, but I tried to update the forum software, crashed the entire database, and couldn’t repair it. Hopefully with the new forum software I intend to use, we won’t have that problem.
I’d also like to feature a few new things in our “Extras” section. We love ghost stories here at The Unquiet Tomb, so if you’ve got a good one, go ahead and submit it. I can’t promise that we’ll use all of them, but chances are good that you’ll see it on the site.
